Covenant News - May 2008

May began on a high note, with Covenant crossing the milestone of five successful years of operation. To mark the event, we had a video conference linking everyone at Covenant from offices all over the country. It was a wonderful get-together! Robin and Johnson created t-shirts for the occasion – a smart design with the Covenant logo proudly emblazoned. Murali and the Administration team made sure everyone took home some delicious sweets.

Sports Secretary Robert was behind the 20-20 Cricket Match held between Operational Hawks and Administrative Tigers at MCC. The Hawks won this closely fought match by 7 runs – Nixon’s 30 minute over was brilliant. Vijay from Engineering Practice was the Man of the Match.

There were also pot luck sessions held in Bangalore, Coimbatore and Hyderabad. Everyone brought tempting delicacies – not good for the waistline, but we had a great feast!

Our Cultural Secretaries Robin and David screened a film for us – ‘Pursuit of Happyness’, a moving, inspiring story that touched each of us.

The Covenant Foundation was started in May this year, under the leadership of Martin and Sam. The Foundation has launched its activities by initiating educational scholarships for children.

Robert, Madhu, Umesh and Buvana clebrated birthdays this month, and Joel, Mini, Denver, Althea and Tannya celebrated their Covenant Anniversaries. Murali is the proud father of a pretty baby girl who looks just like her mother Suzan, and Angel and Sharon have been blessed with a bouncing baby boy.

Vamsee and Gracia tied the knot and the Covenantians helped them celebrate by eating lots of yummy biryani! Cheruba and Julia had a beautiful housewarming ceremony for their new place in Perambur.

We welcome Ram, Vinodhini and Mary, the newest members of the Covenant family.

May has been a month of milestones, we’ve achieved the best score ever, and Sam has been adjudged the Best APerformer in Covenant for May 2008. He’s won a big incentive – and has promised to treat each one of us! It’s been a happy month at Covenant – now we’re looking forward to greater achievements in June…
